The Story of Eternity Complex came into being in May of 2004 on Quizilla. The title was originally Strange Happenings, but that was before a plot came into existence (the quiz can still be viewed here, warning: contains chat speak, not canonical, and over all poor quality). After three quizzes I stopped making anymore but the plot and characters remained in my head. As a result my entire summer break for 2004 was spent working out the details of the plot.
Originally my story was just going to be a simple parody of the fantasy genre, more specifically Lord of the Rings and InuYasha, with one dimensional villains and clichés galore. Then something unexpected happened, a plot began to form. From the formation of the plot onwards many of the parody aspects have been dropped and legitimate plot points have been added.
That’s when I had a disastrous idea; I decided to start a web comic. The disaster wasn’t in the idea itself but in how I went about working on the web comic. I picked up a random idea that was floating around in my head and started drawing it out completely script-less, there wasn't even an outline. The funny thing was I stuck with it and would still be drawing it today if my computer’s video card hadn’t completely fried. That one little event left me computer-less for two months and without any of my passwords.
After that experiment I decided to make Eternity Complex into a web comic, provided another disaster didn’t strike. I started drawing in the summer of 2005 and made it through the prologue and part of the first chapter –just the sketches- then decided I could do better. Sometime in September of 2005 I started all over again.
When I started to get the pages ready to go online the prologue looked like crap and the first chapter is still of extremely poor quality, but I didn’t want to redraw that part of the story again, so the poor quality will have to do for now. Now that the prologue is done I hope to begin redoing the first chapter and with luck I'll get that done by Christmas. After the first chapter is redone I'll probably stop with the revisions.
That’s pretty much the story behind the story in a nutshell if you have any questions feel free to ask
